The house system is a new innovation this year and given time and opportunity to develop, it will no doubt become quite successful. Unofficially we are called the Micons.  House C has yet to establish a distinct identity but of its two hundred members each contributes a little or a lot to the school.

Our personalities include the carnival queen Margaret Mary Flintoff who is also active in cheerleading along with Sirje Paarsalu, Shirley Quibell and Cindy Reid. Cynthia White, the Student Council President and Alan Pettersen, the Vice-President are two very active students and hence an asset to House C as well.  Other include Cathy Ellis, a cast member of "Teahouse of the August Moon Vanderzee, Urcapel Editor; Phillip Stade, Band President and Photographer; and Cathy Ramsay, a, M.C. for Hi-Lites this year. Keith Sharp was sent to Ottawa by the Rotary Club to observe Canadian Government.

House C is well equipped scholastically. Some of those who excelled are Rein Tirrul, Raymond Lessard, Jim Lane, Jaak Tirrul,

Jane MacCabe and Linda Mullins, to mention only a few.

The candy drive at the beginning of this year was won by our House and Helen Prankle received the transistor radio prize. Other members make themselves useful at school activities - whether it is selling buttons and beanies at Sescopep or decorating for the New Year's Dance.

A trophy was awarded to Alan Pettersen for being the most valuable player on the school basketball team.  Our Senior sports representatives are Mike Collins and Shirley Quibell and the Junior reps are Fred Vanderzee and Lorraine Alemany.  They are responsible for organizing the intramural teams.  Athletes include Mike Bell, Rick Swan (badminton) Walter Simbirski, Rein and Jaak Tirrul (all weight lifters).

All in all House C is a well rounded group of students, active in many walks of high school life. Be sure to look out for our Juniors who in a couple of years will no doubt become the pride and joy of House C.
